Cathedral Village Arts Festival

This years theme was Expect The Unexpected, Want to add a caption to this image? Click the Settings icon. and it lived up to it's name.

It was my first year performing for the week long festival held every year in Regina from May 21-26, and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. It's no small event that's for sure. Now in it's 27th year, the festival has attracted over 40,000 audience members.

The six-day festival featured all kinds of performers, visual and literary artists. Every year it offers professional artists the opportunity to present their work to new audiences. The Festival invites children, youth and adults to create, participate, and enjoy the arts in all of its diversity.

I had the opportunity to present a 30 minute stage show on the Funville Stage on May 26th to what turned out to be a large crowd. The audience was wonderful, and very encouraging. The only negative was that I wish I could of performed longer. I had so much fun, and it was obvious the audience had a lot of fun as well. The sound of their laughter after every joke, their ooooohs and aaaaaahs of amazement after every magic trick, and the applause assured me that I had done my job.

I look forward to being a part of it again next year!
