Standing Firm in Truth and Experience

Not long ago, I found myself the target of a few unexpected and rather invasive comments from people who aren’t even on my friends list. It happened after I shared a post about a personal experience—one that didn’t mention any names, didn’t single anyone out, and was meant to express what I’ve learned over the years. Only those who already knew the backstory would have recognized it, and frankly, the name wasn’t the point. The story was.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more of those stories—some positive, some difficult—but all of them true to my experience. After nearly twenty years as a children’s entertainer, I’ve seen it all: the highs, the lows, the laughs, and the lessons. I started from absolutely nothing—no fancy equipment, no big connections—just determination, heart, and a supportive family. Every step forward has been built with hard work, honesty, and perseverance.

That’s why it surprised me to see a few individuals repeatedly visiting my page, leaving comments I eventually had to delete, and in some cases, leading me to block them altogether. I’ve always believed in treating others with respect, and I don’t enjoy resorting to that kind of thing. I’m not perfect, but I try my best to be fair and truthful.

To me, honesty and integrity are what define a person’s character—not their followers, not their image, but how they live when no one’s watching. When people take shortcuts or build themselves up with false claims, it says something about who they are. And while others may defend them, the truth has a way of speaking for itself.

I’ve been called names for expressing my opinions—“childish,” “bully,” and worse—but if I truly wanted to tear someone down, I would have named names and told the whole story. That’s never been my goal. My aim has always been to share experiences that others can learn from—because every story, even the uncomfortable ones, can turn into a positive lesson.

When I first began performing in this province, there wasn’t much competition in the children’s entertainment world. I was carving something new out of thin air. Now, there’s more competition, which is fine—healthy even. But what’s concerning is seeing people rely on dishonest marketing or false claims to get ahead. It cheapens the work that many of us have poured years into building.

If they had reached out, I would have gladly shared advice, guidance, and even opportunities. There’s always a better way to grow than by stepping on others. But I’m not at war with anyone. I’m at peace with my journey and proud of what I’ve accomplished.

Over nearly two decades, I’ve seen fellow performers come and go—some reinventing themselves again and again, sometimes losing sight of who they were in the process. It’s a strange thing to witness, but it reminds me why staying true to yourself matters most.

So, as I continue to share my stories—both the bright and the bittersweet—I hope they serve as a reminder that authenticity, honesty, and passion still count for something. I’ve built my career on those values, and I’ll continue to stand by them.
